Raeesah Chandlay

Hey! I'm Rae. I was born and raised in Johannesburg, the pulse of South Africa. After working for what seemed like eons in the corporate world, I finally conjured up the courage to ditch the “ladder” and pursue conservation. I completed a diploma in Nature Conservation majoring in ecology, plant studies, animal studies and resource management. As part of my work integrated learning experience with the Johannesburg City Parks & Zoo, I worked with endangered wattled cranes on the Wattled Crane Recovery Programme (WCRP), aiming to pair these majestic birds for breeding. This experience further solidified my devotion to conservation.

Aside from being an avid nature lover, I am also a language junkie with a flair for making words flow and ideas come together. My mission is to combine my love of language and passion for wildlife to help others carry the message of conservation on a global scale.
